The 1600 covers 152 mm of wall in one rail, which is why it is the usual choice for main hospital circulation, bed-lift lobbies and imaging corridors. The 1655 adds an 81 mm accent strip for a woodgrain band that keys the rail into the interior.

Beds, trolleys and wheelchairs each strike the wall at a different height. We survey the fleet in use, then set a 102–152 mm rail at the dominant bumper line — typically 750–950 mm to centre — and add a second rail or a handrail where heights overlap.

Which Inpro wall guard is the standard for a UAE hospital corridor?
The 1400 (102 mm face) is the most-specified model, set at trolley and bed-bumper height; the 1600 (152 mm) is used on main circulation and imaging corridors, and the 1300 (48 mm stand-off) on bed-transfer routes. Most projects combine two profiles with a handrail and corner guards. Send us the corridor schedule and we will recommend the layout.
At what height should a crash rail be mounted?
It depends on the equipment in use. Hospital beds and trolleys typically strike between 750 mm and 950 mm to centre; wheelchairs lower. Bluedge surveys the fleet on site and sets the rail (or a stacked pair) to the dominant contact line, so the rail takes the impact rather than the wall finish.
Are Inpro wall guards fire-rated for UAE projects?
Yes. The vinyl range is Class A to ASTM E-84 / UL 723 and self-extinguishing to ASTM D-635; the 1400 is additionally tested to EN 15102 Class B-s2,d0 for European-style specifications. Model-specific certificates are issued with the technical data sheet for your authority submittal.
Can the wall guards be cleaned with hospital disinfectants?
The rigid vinyl cover is tested for chemical and stain resistance (ASTM D-543 / BS EN ISO 175) and does not support bacterial or fungal growth (ASTM G-21/G-22, BS EN ISO 846). Standard hospital cleaning regimes, including chlorine-based disinfectants, are suitable; a cleaning guide is supplied with every order.
Which colours and woodgrains are available?
All standard Inpro solid colours on every vinyl model, with selected woodgrains and metallics on most. End caps, corners and accent strips match, and the same finish is available across corner guards, handrails and rigid sheet trims. Physical samples are provided before ordering.
Can the rails be fitted to existing walls in an operating hospital?
Yes. The aluminium retainer fixes to plasterboard, blockwork or concrete with the supplied fasteners (and anchors where needed); covers snap on afterwards, so work is quick and clean. Bluedge installs in phases around live wards and night shifts, or supplies with installation guidance for your contractor.
Do you supply wall guards in Dubai and the Northern Emirates?
Bluedge is based in Abu Dhabi and supplies and installs across all seven emirates, with selected GCC projects. Supply-only, supply and install, or supply with installation supervision are all available.
