What is door and wall protection, and where is it required?
Door and wall protection is a family of products — wall guards, crash rails, handrails, corner guards, rigid sheets, kick plates and door-edge guards — fixed to interior walls and doors to absorb impact from beds, trolleys, wheelchairs and foot traffic. It is standard in hospitals and clinics, and increasingly specified in schools, airports, hotels, malls and car parks wherever repair and repaint costs are high.
Which wall guard should I specify for a hospital corridor in the UAE?
A typical UAE hospital corridor uses a vinyl crash rail at bed-bumper height (often a stacked pair on bed-transfer routes), a graspable handrail for patients, high-impact corner guards on every exposed corner and rigid vinyl sheet in splash or high-contact zones. Service corridors, kitchens and CSSD usually switch to stainless steel wall guards. Send us the corridor widths and traffic type and we will recommend models and mounting heights.
Vinyl or stainless steel — how do I choose?
Vinyl systems offer the widest colour and woodgrain choice, are quieter on impact and suit patient- and public-facing areas. Stainless steel (grade 304, satin finish) takes the hardest knocks and tolerates aggressive cleaning, so it is the default for back-of-house, loading areas and airports. Many projects combine both: vinyl front-of-house, stainless behind the scenes.
Are Inpro / IPC products fire-rated and suitable for healthcare cleaning regimes?
Inpro rigid vinyl covers and sheets are Class A to ASTM E-84 / UL 723, with EN 13501-1 classifications on the European range, and are cleaned with standard hospital disinfectants without discolouring. Model-specific fire, chemical-resistance and impact data are provided in the technical data sheets we issue on request, together with any authority-approval documents your submittal needs.
Do you supply and install wall protection in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, or only Abu Dhabi?
Bluedge is based in Abu Dhabi and supplies and installs across all seven emirates, including Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, as well as selected GCC projects. We offer supply-only, supply and install, or supply with installation supervision for your own contractor.
Can colours and wood finishes be matched to the interior design scheme?
Yes. Inpro / IPC systems come in an extensive palette of solid colours and woodgrains, and the same colour runs across wall guards, corner guards, handrails and sheet trims so the package reads as one design. Physical samples are available from Bluedge for sign-off before ordering.
